Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 July 2026
Classic Car Clubs UK ("we", "our", "us") runs the classiccarclubs.uk directory of UK classic vehicle clubs, events and auctions. This policy explains, in plain English, what information we collect, what we do with it, and the choices you have. If anything is unclear, email us at enquiries@classiccarclubs.uk and a human will reply.
The short version
- We only collect what you type into our forms, plus standard analytics and advertising data.
- Club enquiries exist to be passed to the club you ask about. That is the whole point of the form, and we tell you so next to it.
- We never sell your information, and we never share it beyond what this policy describes.
- Every newsletter email contains an unsubscribe link that works immediately.
What we collect and why
Club enquiries
When you use the "Interested in joining?" form on a club's page, you give us your name, email address, and optionally your town or county and a message. We use this to introduce you to the club: your enquiry is delivered to the club by email so they can reply to you directly, and we keep a copy in our own mailbox so we can make sure nothing goes astray. We do not use enquiry details for marketing, and we do not add you to the newsletter unless you separately ask to join it.
The newsletter
If you subscribe, we store your email address (and your name, if you gave one) with Resend, our email provider, until you unsubscribe. We send roughly one email a month with stories, events and auctions from the site. Every email has an unsubscribe link; using it removes you from the list straight away.
Contact form
Messages sent through our contact form (name, email, your message) arrive in our mailbox and are used only to reply to you.
Club submissions and listings
If you submit a club to the directory, we publish the information you provide: club name, description, contact details, website and imagery. Directory listings are business information about clubs, much of it publicly available; if you represent a club and want your listing corrected or removed, email us and we will sort it promptly.
Payments
Paid listings are processed by Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and never touch our systems; we receive confirmation of the payment together with the name, email address and club name you enter at checkout, which we use to set up and manage your listing. Stripe's own privacy policy is at stripe.com/gb/privacy.
Automatic information
Like almost every website, we use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and how visitors find us (pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type). Our hosting provider, Vercel, keeps standard server logs including IP addresses for security and reliability.
Advertising and cookies
We show advertising through Google AdSense, which helps keep the directory free. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google's Ads Settings, or more broadly at aboutads.info. Google Analytics also sets cookies to distinguish visitors. Beyond these, the site itself does not set tracking cookies of its own.
Who we share information with
We share personal information only with:
- The club you ask about, when you send an enquiry through a club page. Your name, email and message go to the club so they can reply.
- Service providers who process data on our behalf: Resend (sending and newsletter storage, processed within the EU), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), and Google (analytics and advertising, as described above).
- Authorities, if the law genuinely requires it.
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. Ever.
How long we keep things
Enquiries and contact messages are kept as ordinary email correspondence and deleted when no longer needed. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR), you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Have it corrected or deleted
- Object to, or ask us to restrict, our use of it
- Receive it in a portable format
Email enquiries@classiccarclubs.uk to exercise any of these; we will respond within a month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
When our practices change, this page changes with them, and the date at the top is updated. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the newsletter.
